Class RBingham - Celebrating Bonfire Night

 Celebrating Bonfire Night.

This week we have been learning about why we celebrate Bonfire Night.

We have listened to a story about Guy Fawkes and his plot to blow up The Houses of Parliament.

This is our Floorbook showing lots of our answers to different types of questions about Bonfire Night.

We now know that the Houses of Parliament are in London next to the River Thames.
How many barrels of gunpowder did Guy Fawkes hide in the cellar of the Houses of Parliament?

We enjoyed building the Houses of Parliament with Big Ben and also acted out the story using masks.

We have talked about how to stay safe on Bonfire Night and how to keep our pets safe too.

We enjoyed making 3D rocket fireworks.

We used oil pastels to create firework explosions in the night sky.   BOOM! WHIZZ! CRACKLE! BANG! FIZZ! ZOOM!

We also explored making firework patterns by rolling marbles in paint. It was good fun!

In Maths, we explored copying firework patterns using the pegs and pegboards.

In our outside classroom, we have been making firework numbers using colourful streamers.

We worked by ourselves and used our 'Fred fingers' to spell words to describe the sound of fireworks.

In Maths, we have also been ordering numbered fireworks...

... and sharing bonfire hot dogs between Scooby-Doo and Shaggy.

We hope that you have enjoyed learning about our busy week at school!
