Why do we celebrate Bonfire Night? - Mrs Dodge

 Bonfire Night

This week we have been learning about who Guy Fawkes was and what he tried to do 400 years ago. We know that we celebrate the fact that he did NOT manage to blow up King James 1 and the Houses of Parliament.

We have been writing about what we would see, hear, smell and taste on Bonfire Night. We have used our Fred fingers to hear the sounds and wrote as many sounds as we could.

We have ordered some numbered fireworks.

We have counted out the right number of hotdogs from a larger set and then shared them between the friends.

We have thought about the colours of fireworks and finished off some repeating patterns

We have made some firework noises using instruments. We had to make them quiet and then got louder.

We have used chalks to make the patterns of fireworks in the night sky.

In our choosing, some of us have made a wanted postered for Guy Fawkes.

We had a great time making a fireworks picture by rolling marbles over our black paper.

We also really enjoyed making our own cut and stick fireworks too.
