Diwali
This week we have been learning about how Hindus celebrate Diwali. We know that it is their festival of light and they light diva lamps.
We have been counting out diva lamps and adding two numbers together by counting on using a number line.
We have also been adding one and two more to a number of diva lamps.
In the role play area, we have been cleaning the house, cooking sweets and getting ready for Diwali.
On Thursday we loved trying some Indian food...
We then tried some Indian dance moves...
We have been writing about what Hindus do to celebrate Diwali.
We have made Rangoli patterns using Numicon, 2D shapes and coloured stones.
We have remembered the story of Rama and Sita. We acted out the story using masks and ordered the pictures from the story as well as making a throne for Rama and Sita outside.
