Hello everyone! We hope you're all doing okay.
Each Wednesday, the Reception blog will be devoting some all important time to well-being and giving you some simple ideas to help keep both you and your little ones happy and well throughout the next half term. We're going to refer to it as "Well-being Wednesday" and each week there will be new activities or ideas for you to share with your child. This activity can, of course, be done on any day of the week- or every day, should you need a little extra zen in your lives!😊 We don't need to see any evidence of you completing the activity (although it'd be lovely to see some photos if you have time to send them to us! Please send them to emma.graves@fosse-way-academy.org)
Most importantly, we want the children to stay happy and for parents to know that their well-being and mental health is just as important to us as reading and writing! To that end, remember to be kind to yourselves and each other during this difficult time. Some days will be easier than others and it's OK for children (and their grown-ups!) to perhaps feel a little overwhelmed and have days where they just need to focus on increasing their feelings of happiness and well-being. Hopefully, you will find these weekly activities and ideas helpful for your child, on the good days and the tricky days too.
The first activity is a nice simple breathing exercise called 'Rainbow breathing', which is a lovely calming exercise to do together using the picture/instructions below.
Stay safe & keep smiling!
The Reception team
