 Goldilocks and the Three Bears

This week is the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears

This is a link to the story if you do not have a paper copy.

We also sing the song, 'When Goldilocks Went to the House of the Bears'. Your child could join in with the actions.

Who are the characters?

Where is the story set?

What does Goldilocks/the bears look like?

Is Goldilocks a good girl?

How does Baby Bear feel? Why?

Should Goldilocks have eaten the porridge?

MATHEMATICS

We are looking at size again. This time we are going to order items from smallest to largest and largest to smallest. You could use any items around your house or garden for this.

We will then group all these objects into small, medium and large.

PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT

We are using porridge oats, spoons and bowls to develop fine motor skills. Use the spoons to scoop the porridge into the different bowls. You could use any containers for this and it doesn't need to be porridge (which can get quite messy!) but lentils, beans, rice, sand, etc.

We will be having porridge as a snack - we will think about adding something to it - like raisins or jam or syrup. Yum! Yum!

EXPRESSIVE ART & DESIGN

Maybe you would like to paint/draw or make a bear. Here are some ideas depending on what resources you might have at home.

We will be using our construction sets to build the bears a bed and a chair.

ONGOING ACTIVITIES

Counting and number recognition
Name recognition and name writing
Joe Wicks on his YouTube channel

PSED

We will be playing board games/dominoes where we have to take it in turns and we will be focusing on sharing and being kind.
