RBingham - Celebrating Autumn

Celebrating Autumn

This week we have been learning about Autumn.
We have been finding out about why animals hibernate and why birds migrate.

We have enjoyed listening to
Percy the Park Keeper stories
by Nick Butterworth.

Our role play area this week has been Percy's shed and we have enjoyed planting seeds with Percy's animal friends.

In Maths, we have been helping Percy to build climbing frames in his playground by finding different ways of representing 5.

We have also been exploring the concept of subtraction:
The autumn wind was blowing conkers off the big oak tree - but how many were left?

In our Outside Classroom, we have been using natural materials to create number lines...

...and repeating patterns.

We also used leaf sponges to create repeat patterns using autumnal coloured paints.

We have really enjoyed looking at the work of artist Andy Goldsworthy, who uses natural materials to create his art work.
We are very proud of our work!
