RBingham - The Magic Porridge Pot

The Magic Porridge Pot

This week's traditional story has been
'The Magic Porridge Pot'.

After reading the story, we created our own version called
 'The Magic Popcorn Pot'.
We had to devise our own ending of the story.
We had some fantastic ideas: the popcorn would be put in a plane and taken around the world to people who don't have any food; the popcorn would be taken to the cinema; farm animals would eat all of the popcorn.

We used playdough to make our own magic thumb pots.

We decided that some superheroes would rescue the people in the town from all of the porridge. So we read lots of 'superhero' stories too!

We have had a great time in our 'Superhero Rescue Centre' role play area!

In maths, we have been making two digit numbers using tens and ones, and also 10p and 1p coins.

After watching Numberblocks, we have explored doubling numbers using Numicon.
We were able to record our work on the writing roll.

We also made 2D shapes using loose parts.
We described their properties too.

We have also started to make some special cards for some very special people.
Ssshhhh!
