RBingham - Jack and the Beanstalk

Jack and the Beanstalk

This week's Traditional Story has been
'Jack and the Beanstalk'.

We have been busy developing our descriptive language to describe the giant, Jack and the beanstalk.
We have also been imagining what we might find at the top of the beanstalk. We imagined unicorns, fairies, dragons, aliens and other exciting creatures.

Our role play area has been the giant's castle. As well as acting out the story, we have been having competitions to see who could make the longest beanstalk!

We have been developing our drawing skills by looking closely at a tall, leafy plant.

We also enjoyed mixing shades of green using only yellow and blue paint.

In our outside classroom, we built the giant's castle.
We also used the tap-tap shapes to create shape castles too.

We planted our own beans to hopefully grow our own gigantic beanstalks and we have started a 'bean diary' so that we can record the growth.

These are some other versions of the story.
We particularly enjoyed 'Jack and the Incredibly Mean Stalk'.

 Another fantastic story week!
