A Fishy Week!

What a fishy week!

This week we have read lots of different water related stories. Our favourites were 'Tiddler', 'The Snail and the Whale', 'Dougal's Deep-Sea Diary' and 'Commotion in the Ocean'.
Have you read any of these at home?

We have enjoyed using our imagination in our fantastic 'underwater' role play area. We've even been on a trip in a yellow submarine!

We have been working hard with our observational drawing skills. We looked closely at some trout and made some fantastic pencil drawings. We also used illustrations from picture books to draw sea creatures on our IPads too!

We are beginning to make some 3D fish and began to cover some balloons with sticky papier mache.

We explored 'floating' and 'sinking' in our water tray.

We've had a busy maths week: ordering numbered sea creatures, playing fishy number BINGO, jumping on a numberline to add two numbers, finding objects shorter and longer than a fish, and also using the bar model to make different totals of fish to 10. WOW!

In our class, we have some super Teamwork Toucans who enjoy the challenge of doing jigsaws.

Looking forward to next week!
