In Nursery we like to provide lots of opportunities to make marks and explore! Outside this morning we placed some chalk on the ground. The children started off by drawing and writing their names on the ground; a focus of ours this week. They then ventured to making marks on the nearby tyres, once one of them started we had lots of children drawing on them. With a bit of careful prompting the children then started to to explore what happened when they mixed two colours together! We then added some water and they used the brushes to mix the chalk together. Such wonderful language and exploration which all came from a small pot of chalk and our children inquisitiveness!
