Celebrating Autumn
This week, we have been celebrating Autumn in lots of different ways!
We went on a hunt for signs of autumn.
We enjoyed working in Percy the Park Keeper's hut and created hibernating homes for some of his animal friends.
We made repeating patterns, ordered different sized plants and numbered leaves. We also used sticks, fir cones and conkers to make our own number lines.
We enjoyed using stick puppets to act out Percy the Park Keeper stories and played initial sound matching games. We have also read lots of different stories including one on the ipad called 'It was a Cold Dark Night' about a hedgehog.
We have also used a wide range of natural materials to make repeating patterns in our Outside Classroom.
We had a challenge to create climbing equipment for Percy's park, but we could only use 5 cubes!
We also explored the concept of 'take away' and 'subtraction'.
The autumn wind was blowing conkers off the trees!
We have been using lots of 'WOW' words such as 'hibernate', 'migrate', 'dew', 'frost', 'damp', 'decay', 'plough'.
A fantastic autumnal week!
Well done everyone.
