Before half term, the children
were immersing themselves in the world of Goldilocks and the three bears.
It all started one day when a
little broken chair appeared on our carpet…
Where had it come from? Who’s
chair was it? Why was it broken? – were all questions the children discussed
and we concluded it must have been Goldilocks!
Using hats and small world, the
children acted out the story, remembering key lines like “Who’s been sitting in
my chair?” and “This bed is just right!” They have been developing their story
telling language by performing to their friends. They have investigated porridge
with Mrs Denton to find the perfect consistency, not too gooey or too sticky,
not too sloppy or too chunky… the children have enjoyed challenges
sorting small, medium and large items and doubling the bears’ dinners.
I wonder what our next story will
be…
