RBingham - Exploring In The Garden

 Exploring In The Garden

This week, we have been reading information books to develop our vocabulary and find out facts about minibeasts such as honeybees, ladybirds and butterflies.

We have enjoyed linking our learning to the story 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' by Eric Carle.

We have made story maps to retell the story and enjoyed using puppets and props to act out the story.

We explored symmetry by painting half a butterfly and folding our paper.

We also made symmetrical patterns using pegs and pegboards.

We confidently found doubles of numbers using counters on butterfly wings.

We drew symmetrical butterflies in the wet sand.

We enjoyed exploring our 'In The Garden' role play too!

We have enjoyed finding out lots of information using non-ficton books!
Did you know that ladybirds like to drink nectar from flowers?
Did you know that a queen bee can lay up to 1000 eggs in a day?
