Mrs Dodge - On Safari (week 2)

 On Safari

In Literacy this week we have pretended to be on a real Safari. We thought about what we would be able to see, hear, small and taste. We didn’t touch anything as it would be too dangerous! We also made maps of our own Safari parks and labelled the animals you would be able to see.

In Numeracy this week we sorted the Safari animals in different ways, made a tally chart of our favourite animals and then made a block graph using duplo showing our results.

In the afternoons we made a cut and stick elephant as well as an enclosure for a Safari animal. We had to make sure it couldn’t escape!

It has also been The Great Science Share this week. We have been learning about the journey of plastic and the effects of plastic on the environment. We reused plastic bottle tops to make pictures of some Safari animals.

In PE this week we warmed up by running, moving sideways and skipping. We played the secret tagger game and flew our aeroplanes to the jungle and then ran through the trees. We then practised our sports day activities.

We had a nice surprise on Monday... some caterpillars arrived in our classroom! They are already growing so fast!

And we also met the school tortoise called Harriet...

Spoiler alert!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dad’s can only scroll down after Sunday!

We have also made our Father’s Day cards...
