Mrs Dodge - Space (week 1)

 Space

This week we have travelled into space. 

In Literacy we read the story ‘Whatever Next’. We pretended to be the bear and wrote a postcard home from the moon and we thought about what we would need to pack if we were going to space.

In Numeracy, we designed repeating patterns on rockets, used the aliens to make our number bonds to 10 and made aliens using playdough. We had to describe something on the alien, eg how many eyes did it have or how many legs did it have?

We have been very creative this week. We have made a cut and stick rocket, make Lego sculptures of something to do with space, painted a space picture and rolled marbles on black card ready to make a planet/space picture next week. We have also loved being in our role play this week. 

We have enjoyed another PE lesson  with Mr Toyne. We pretended to be explorers. We used a map to navigate into spaces, we were chased by dinosaurs which made us stick in the mud and collected coconuts by throwing a ball up to them. We enjoyed another game of dodgeball. Some of us had to be out if we got hit by the ball.
