Mrs Dodge - Space (week 2)

Space - Week 2

We are very sad to see our role play area disappear this week. We have loved being in the Space role play and dressing up as astronauts. We have counted back from 10 and launched our space rockets, as well as looking after the rocket from ground control.

In literacy this week we have been writing facts about space and thinking about about what we would be able to hear, see and touch when in space.

In numeracy we have used the tap tap shapes to make space pictures and totalled the number of eyes on the aliens to make amounts.

We have enjoyed dancing to space music in our spacesuits and making an obstacle course to get from one planet to another. We have also been very creative by building rockets and helmets as well as mixing media to make a space picture. We used pastels and rolling marbles in paint.

RBingham - Exploring Underground and In The Dark (week 2)

 Exploring Underground

and In The Dark

This week we have continued to explore underground and in the dark. We have been finding interesting facts about badgers, foxes, moles and bats.

We have continued to make shelters and dens to explore underground and the dark, despite the weather!

We have enjoyed working together to build underground tunnels.

We learnt about silhouettes and drew nocturnal animals onto our sunset backgrounds.

We used oil pastels to draw nocturnal animals.

We created habitats for the animals using a range of natural materials.

We manipulated the playdough to make wriggly worms of different lengths. Some of us found this really tricky!

We confidently found numbers bonds to 10. We realised that 8+2=10 and so does 2+8=10. We can use the same two numbers and it doesn't matter which way they are!

We hope you have enjoyed learning about some of the things we have been busy doing at school this week.

Have a wonderful half term!
Let's hope the sun shines 🌞
