SPACE

This week we have listened to a story by Jill Murphy. A little bear uses his imagination to fly to the moon and have a picnic with an owl.

The story led to lots of work in class this week. We have been busy:

writing a postcard to Mummy Bear from Baby Bear on the moon!
making lots of different types of rockets and space shuttles using Duplo, tap-tap shapes, large construction kits, 2D shapes and 2D shapes.
creating repeat patterns on rockets.
exploring ways of making a total of 10 aliens in a spaceship.
creating a space background by rolling marbles in paint.
exploring the texture of the surface of the moon, by creating craters in wet sand.
exploring our International Space Station role play area.
finding out facts about space, gravity and also British astronaut Tim Peake.
