SPACE
This week we have listened to a story by Jill Murphy. A little bear uses his imagination to fly to the moon and have a picnic with an owl.
The story led to lots of work in class this week. We have been busy:
- writing a postcard to Mummy Bear from Baby Bear on the moon!
- making lots of different types of rockets and space shuttles using Duplo, tap-tap shapes, large construction kits, 2D shapes and 2D shapes.
- creating repeat patterns on rockets.
- exploring ways of making a total of 10 aliens in a spaceship.
- creating a space background by rolling marbles in paint.
- exploring the texture of the surface of the moon, by creating craters in wet sand.
- exploring our International Space Station role play area.
- finding out facts about space, gravity and also British astronaut Tim Peake.
