Dear Parents/Carers,
We have listed a few ideas to try at home now that Nursery has closed.
Firstly, there have been a number of websites that have opened their resources free of charge during this period:
Twinkl
Setting up is really easy - go to https://www.twinkl.co.uk/offer and enter the code UKTWINKLHELPS
Alistair Bryce-Clegg ABC Does
This website is constantly updating with new ideas https://abcdoes.com/
Pinterest
https://www.pinterest.co.uk/ If you type in Ideas EYFS there are hundreds!
Other ideas -
Read a book and draw/paint a character from the story
Continue to practise writing your name
Playdough (you can find a recipe on Twinkl) roll, squash, squeeze, press, etc - strengthen those fingers!
Number recognition/ordering numbers for those who recognise numbers
Lots of singing - Simple Songs on YouTube are wonderful!!
Lots of talking about anything and everything!
Play in the garden - continue to develop fine and gross motor skills
Ball skills - throwing, catching, kicking, striking
Look for signs of Spring - can you draw any buds, flowers - snowdrops, daffodils, crocuses, etc, any wildlife - birds and bugs
Continue to work on self help skills -
Dressing self
Putting on and zipping up own coat
Own toileting and hygiene
Everyone keep safe and will hopefully see you all soon,
The Nursery Team
