Mrs Dodge - The Jolly Postman and Science Week

The Jolly Postman

This week we have been learning about what happened to letters and parcels once they have been posted.

We have thought about the sizes of different parcels. We have ordered parcels by their weight and objects by there size.

We have drawn a story map and discussed all of the Traditional Tale characters the Jolly Postman meets.

Working with Mr Ward, we have been learning how to take pictures on the iPad and import them into Skitch so we can write on them.

Science Week

The theme for this year is ‘Our Diverse Planet’. We have been looking at patterns and changes in our environment as well as looking at how different and 'unique' we all are.

We have also used our senses to guess what is in a feely box.

We have enjoyed going on a colour walk around the school environment to see natural objects of different colours.

We have explored bubbles and how they are made. We have tried blowing bubbles in different ways and making giant bubbles with a hoop (this was tricky when it was windy!).

What a fun week we have had!
