RBingham - SPACE (week 1)

First of all, HAPPY NEW YEAR!I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year.

SPACE

We have been busy learning lots of facts about SPACE.
We have learnt about gravity too! Did you know that the moon's gravity causes the tide to go back and forth?

We enjoyed using the internet to find out about Tim Peake.
We watched him working in the International Space Station - our favourite clip was when he played ping-pong with a bubble of water! (click the link to watch Tim Peake)

We have enjoyed working in our own Space Station.

We enjoyed reading 'Whatever Next!' by Jill Murphy. We imagined that we were Baby Bear. We wrote a postcard to Mummy Bear whilst visiting the moon.

We talked about travelling to the moon. We created the moon's surface with craters (in wet sand).

We used oil pastels to create space pictures.

We have been busy creating space backgrounds so that we can add our solar system next week.

We made cut and stick rockets by drawing around templates.

In our Outside Classroom, we worked together to build space shuttles.

We also enjoyed using our imagination to create aliens!

In Maths we explored making totals of 10.

We have also been busy building rockets, doing jigsaws and making our own books about planets.

We have started to learn about the planets in our Solar System.
Can you name all of the planets in our Solar System?
