RBingham - On Safari (week 2)

 On Safari.

This week we have enjoyed using information books, and the internet, to find out interesting facts about animals that you might see on safari.

Did you know that elephants are good swimmers?
Did you know that we have the same number of bones in our neck as giraffes!?
Did you know that a giraffe's horns are called ossicones?

We have looked at African patterns and recreated them using our IPads.

We looked closely at huts and housing in the African Savannah and used our wooden kits to build our own huts.

Continuing our work on the story 'Handa's Surprise', we ordered the fruit using ordinal numbers...

...looked carefully at the patterns and shapes on a pineapple...

...and tasted a range of fruits such as mango, avacado, passion fruit, banana, tangerine and pineapple.

We have also sorted numbered African animals into odd and even sets.

One of our favourite stories this week has been 'We're Going on a Lion Hunt'.

Keep a look out for our Sports Day photos... coming soon!
