This week we have been learning about 'winter', finding out lots of information.
We enjoyed asking our friends about their favourite winter activity and made a tally. Then we made a pictogram to represent our data.
We used our senses to think about 'winter'. We listened to the sounds in each word and used our 'Fred fingers' to help us spell each word.
We have really enjoyed working in our 'Winter Wonderland' role play area this week.
We worked independently to draw and label things that remind us of 'winter'.
We have explored printing with corrugated card to create bare winter trees.
We enjoyed creating snowy, wintry pictures using white paint, cotton buds and our fingers!
We've also been creating snowflakes using a wax resist technique.
In our outside classroom, we were 'Teamwork Toucans', building a sledge together!
We also threw snowballs into numbered baskets to find totals. It was good fun!
In maths, we used the Numicon to represent numbers on mittens. Some of us explored making teen numbers counting on from a 'ten' piece. We used pop-poms to check our counting.
As well as all of the above activites, we have had a busy week rehearsing and then filming our Christmas songs, which we hope will be ready to post on the Blog next week! Watch this space!!!
