In The Garden.
This week our class work has been based around the fantastic story 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' by Eric Carle.
Please click on this link if you would like to watch the animated story on Youtube:

We have made story maps to retell the story and sequenced what the caterpillar ate each day.

We have made story maps to retell the story and sequenced what the caterpillar ate each day.
We have enjoyed working together to complete a 24 piece jigsaw.
We have explored the concept of symmetry through painting half of a butterfly and folding it to make a symmetrical butterfly...
made symmetrical patterns using a line of symmetry...
used pegs and pegboards to make symmetrical patterns
created symmetrical patterns on butterflies using coloured counters...
and created symmetrical cut and stick butterflies.
In maths, we have also shown how clever we are at independently doubling numbers to 10.
As well reading lots of information books about different 'minibeasts', we have really enjoyed listening to stories by Eric Carle.
Have you read any of these fantastic stories at home?
