Exploring the Farm
We have been very busy finding out facts about different farm animals and also about the life of a farmer.
We found out our favourite farm animal by asking our friends and then making tally charts. Some of us even used gated tallies!
We enjoyed exploring the farm set and also our farm shop role play area.
We explored the farm set and used the IPad to take a photo. Then we used an app called Skitch to label the animals in our photos.
We enjoyed using our scissor skills to make paper plate hens.
We worked as Teamwork Toucans to build our own tractors!
In Maths, we have been very busy naming and describing 2D and 3D shapes. We found some 3D objects in our outside classroom too.
We have also been sorting odd and even numbered farm animals, using Numicon to help us. We enjoyed playing a game to find 1 more and 1 less than a number too.
We have been busy using 10p and 1p coins and also our tens and ones to partition numbers.
We have been exploring the concept of division by sharing ducks in ponds, feeding carrots to the farm animals, and also sharing apples on trees.
We have had an exciting time in our outside environment, hunting for minibeasts and working in our allotment with Mrs Bulleyment.
An exciting, but busy couple of weeks!
