Exploring Space
This week we have begun to learn about SPACE.
As well as reading information books to learn new facts, we also read a story called 'Whatever Next' by Jill Murphy.
We imagined that we were Baby Bear and then we wrote a postcard (from the moon) to Mummy Bear. We also made a list of things to pack for our journey to the moon and acted out the story in our Outside Classroom.
We enjoyed working in our International Space Station too.
We made different sized rockets using the tap-tap shapes.
We enjoyed drawing space pictures using oil pastels on black paper.
We built rockets and space shuttles to blast off into space!
We created a cut and stick rocket.
We also used wet sand to create the landscape of the moon.
In maths, we have been working with aliens! Some of us were exploring totals of 10 in one rocket and some of us used three rockets. We have also been making ABB/AAB repeat patterns on a rocket.
As you can see, we've had a busy start to the summer term!
