RBingham - The Three Little PIgs

Happy New Year to you all!
I hope you have had a wonderful Christmas!

The Three Little Pigs

We have linked all of our work this week to the traditional story  'The Three Little Pigs'.
We have read lots of different versions of the story and our favourites are 'The Three Little Wolves and the Big Bad Pig' and also 'The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs!'.
We have drawn and labelled story maps, sequenced the story and we also thought about what the characters might be saying to each other. We recorded this writing in speech bubbles!

We have really enjoyed our builder's centre/DIY shop role play...

...and we even worked on building a strong wall just like a real brick-layer!

We have been busy using our cutting and sticking skills to create our own houses.

We also used the tap-tap shapes to make houses too!

We have been fantastic Teamwork Toucans, building new houses for the pigs.

The pig's toolboxes only hold 10 tools, so we have been using the bar model and the part/part/whole method to find different ways of making a total of 10. Fantastic!

We have been busy measuring large objects in our outside classroom using hands/feet.

What a busy first week back at school!
