Mrs Dodge- Underwater Travel - Week 1

Underwater
Image result for cartoon image of a submarine
Our role play has been a submarine so we can see the sea creatures swimming by.

We have been writing about what we can see through our porthole window in the submarine.

We have been drawing some deep sea divers on the iPad too.

We have been exploring floating and sinking. We have filled the boats with small plastic people to see how many they can carry until they sink.

We have also met with Miss France's children for a Book Buddy session. It was lovely to see some familiar faces :)

Outside we have had some new challenges. We have been making circles using different media.

And how can we forget the run we did for Mrs Rand’s Stroke Charity. We got very tired!

We have been having lots of fun outside too...

Hooray - it snowed!

How exciting?! We had snow in Nursery today! We tried to catch snowflakes in our hands and on our tongues!

PE - Using beams and benches

In PE today, we practised working in and staying in our own space.

We then moved carefully along the benches before turning them and trying to walk across the beams.

We finished by bunny hopping across the mats. Another great PE lesson - well done Nursery!

Up, up and away!

This week we have been looking at things that fly.

We have turned the role play area into a hot air balloon. We need to buy tickets before we can climb on board and then we can have a picnic on the grass.

We have scales so that we can weigh the wild animals, African animals that need sorting and a maths game where we needed to place buttons on the polar bears.

We put maps on the carpet and placed the animals on the land and in the sea.

The polar animals were trapped in the ice. We had to try and melt the ice to release them!
