RBingham - The Three Billy Goats Gruff
The Three Billy Goats Gruff
Our traditional story this week has been
The Three Billy Goats Gruff.
We also enjoyed a different version called 'The Three Billy Goats Fluff'.
We used Google to find out lots of interesting facts about goats. We also thought about why the troll might have been so bad tempered, and made a list of words to describe the troll (which we used in our writing).
We have had a fantastic week pretending to be trolls! We made potions using maggots, spiders, worms, flies, eyeballs and even rat poo! YUCK!
We also created food for the troll using playdough.
Anyone fancy maggot and eyeball pizza?
We also created a story map to act out the story.
We built traps to capture the troll.
We used natural materials to make goat/troll footprints.
We used Numicon to sort odd and even numbered goats.
We used the bar model to find different ways of making a total of 10 plants for the goats to eat.
We also went hunting for signs of decay with Mrs Bulleyment and Mrs King in our outside environment.
A fun week was had by all!

RMcCabe - The Three Billy Goats Gruff
Last week we were thinking about The Three Billy Goats Gruff. The children have been using the Ipads to draw trolls, built traps and bridges to help the goats, made trolls' feet with natural resources, used playdough to make troll cookies and written recipes with disgusting ingredients for troll soup. We also conducted an experiment to find out what materials would make the goats' hooves quieter so they could creep over the bridge without waking the troll.
Our cold, snowy day
