RBingham - Book Buddies
Book Buddies
This afternoon, we have had a super time with our Book Buddies from Class 3/4 Allen/Baker.
We shared books and listened to Christmas music with a log fire on our Smart board. Then we decorated Christmas baubles.
We can't wait until our next session with our Book Buddies!

WINTER
Winter
We have begun to look at a new topic this week - Winter.
We have read the story Here Comes Jack Frost by Kazuno Kohara.
We then tried to remember what happened in the story and draw our favourite parts.
Jack Frost took the little boy's hat off. |
I like the little boy and the dog. Jack Frost comes from Winter. |
The boy and Jack Frost had a snowball fight. |
They were playing. |
We have also been making snowflakes for our Winter display.

RMcCabe - Autumn
Last week the
children were learning about Autumn changes. They created repeating patterns
and dens for hibernating animals. They also explored problem solving, colour
mixing and observational drawing.
In maths we have been exploring
different ways to make 10. First we practised accurately counting to 10 then we
split them in different ways. The children linked these two groups to the Numicon
pieces and began to match number bonds using the Numicon to see how the shapes
fit to make the same total. Some children verbally described their findings as
number sentences.
Red group took their
investigations further and recorded the different ways that they made 10 in
number sentences.
The children have done really
well problem solving independently. They created a shape using 5 cubes, then
created 4 more shapes in different ways. Everyone worked with resilience, even
though the cubes were quite difficult to put together, and everyone succeeded!
Just look at this
fantastic observational drawing of Autumn leaves!
