Messy Fun!

What a lot of messy fun we have had this today!

In our messy tray today we had cold cooked spaghetti, a mixture of runny paint and some paint brushes.  The children were then free to explore, some children tentatively approached (aprons on of course!) and picked up the paint brushes and painted circles on the tray, moving on to painting individual pieces of spaghetti! 

As the play continued the children became more and more confident to explore and started using their hands to mix the spaghetti with the colours and we even had some body painting towards the end!

The children were using some wonderful language as they played about what the spaghetti felt like, as well as describing the colours they could see and what happened to them as they mixed together!

Well done everyone! 

Tomorrow we are going to add in different shaped pasta and see what happens!

Planting bulbs

Last week we decided to plant some bulbs ready for Spring next year. we planted some tulips and daffodils around the outside classroom.  

It was lovey to see all the children helping, each planting a bulb.

Can't wait to see them grow next year!

Our first week in Nursery

A big welcome to all our new parents visiting our blog for the first time and welcome back to all our existing Nursery parents.  

I hope you all had a wonderful summer and enjoyed your first week back.

We use this blog to keep you up to date with all the fun things we get up to in Nursery and Reception.

In Nursery we loved our first week and are so pleased with how well all the children have settled, well done everyone. (and well done to all the grown ups too, we know how hard it is leaving your children for the first time)  

We have had such a busy week settling in and exploring our Nursery environment.
